Indian Visa

Nationals of most countries require a visa, be it an e-visa or stamped visa, to visit India for tourism, business, work or any other legitimate purpose.

So no matter the type of visa you want to apply, QCD can assist you in the entire process, right from the list of documents required to even scheduling the appointment for submission in the respective Indian mission. The various categories of Indian visas are as given below.

1. BUSINESS VISA : A Business Visa is given to those who would like to visit India for business meetings, sales promotion or liaison on behalf of companies outside India.

2. CONFERENCE VISA : A Conference Visa is granted to those who would like to visit India for participating in International Conferences provided they have an invitation to a conference / seminar / workshop being organized in India by a Ministry of Department of Government of India , State Governments , Public Sector Undertakings , Central Educational Institutions , Public Funding University or an organization owned and controlled by the Government of India or State Government , UN , or its specialized agencies and reputed NGO's.

If the conference is being organized by Private companies, then the applicant should apply for a business visa and not conference visa.

3. EMERGENCY VISA : Only people of Indian origin holding US passport can apply for an Emergency visa in case of genuine emergencies like death or illness of a blood relative ( such as parents , children or siblings ) or a legal commitment. The decision of the Consular Officer will be final regarding what all situations fall under the purview of emergency.

4. ENTRY VISA : An Entry Visa is granted to the following applicants :-
1) A person of Indian Origin - one who has held Indian Nationality or is a child or a grandchild of a person who has held Indian Nationality.
2) A spouse or a child of a person of Indian origin
Note : Person of Indian Origin must apply for Entry Visa instead of Tourist Visa.

5. TOURIST VISA : A Tourist Visa is appropriate for those who would like to visit India for tourism or non business purposes. It is granted for visiting India for recreation , sight seeing , casual visits to meet friends and relatives etc. No other activities are permissible on a Tourist Visa. The pre-requisite to get this visa is that you must not have a residence or occupation in India.

6. STUDENT VISA : Multiple Entry student visas are given to bona fide students to pursue regular studies at recognized institutions in India. It is valid for the time period of study as approved by the Educational Institutes of India.

7. EMPLOYMENT VISA : An Employment Visa is granted to an employee or paid intern of an Indian Company or people travelling to India who have volunteered to work with an NGO.

8. MEDICAL VISA : You can get a medical visa if you would like to seek medical treatment in reputed / recognized specialized hospitals/treatment centers in India. Up to two attendants who are blood relatives, are allowed to accompany the applicant under separate Medical Attendant Visas , their visa validity will be same as the Medical Visa of the patient.

9. TRANSIT VISA : A Transit Visa is granted for the sole purpose of enabling the visa holder to travel through India to reach his/her ultimate destination. Change of purpose is not allowed.
